An evening at one of our wine dinners is a great social outing for couples, singles, and groups alike. With over 2,000 different kinds of wine, and 25,000 bottles –Friends Lake Inn is the place to be!

 What is a Wine Tasting Dinner?

A wine tasting dinner offers superb food paired with excellent wine. It is a great way to learn more about fine wines, as well as winemaking.

 

At Friends Lake Inn,  five wines are expertly paired with a five-course dinner that is prepared by our Executive Chef Scott Dewar. Each course and the accompanying wine are chosen under the direction of our Sommelier & Owner John Breymaier. Our menu is developed to perfectly showcase each of the wines, and to bring out their full flavor.

 

All wine dinners start at 7:00 pm with a reception and hors d’ oeuvres. We also provide expert commentary on wine making, and fascinating facts about wine from the region of the estate that is featured. Our engaging discussions cover various topics including everything from, ‘why different types of wine taste the way they do,’ to ‘paring wines with food.’ Enjoy tasting crisp and light whites, as well as robust reds, and learn more about some truly unique and exceptional wines. You’re sure to find some winners to include at your next dinner party.

At our wine tasting dinners, everyone is welcome. No matter if you are new to the world of wine, or looking to learn more about the finer notes of various wines, our wine tasting dinners are sure to be an enjoyable experience for you. If you’re new to the wine tasting scene, this is a perfect opportunity to get started –and if you have more experience, this will allow you a chance to learn more about some different wines that you may not have tried before.

About Friends Lake Inn

In addition to our world-class dining experience and wine tasting, why not enjoy an overnight stay in one of our luxurious guest rooms?

 

Opt for dinner only, or choose a one-night package. This includes an overnight stay for two in one of our romantic guest rooms, and an authentic country breakfast in the morning.

 

At Friends Lake Inn, each of our guest rooms is individually decorated, and designed with your comfort in mind. Each room offers romantic getaway accommodations, and you have the option of a Jacuzzi, fireplace, scenic views, a balcony, and more.

 

For the adventurer, we have a wide variety of outdoor activities including access to a private lake. Our guests also have access to over 30km of hiking trails, skiing, and snowshoeing trails.

 

Our wine tasting dinners are held once a month, September through June. Reservations are required, and menus are available two weeks prior to the event.
